A quiet service, without hymns, that will focus on contemplative prayer and "gazing at" (contemplatio; Latin from Greek) the Divine as we enter into the season of Advent.

Advent was instituted as a time of contemplation and reflection as we consider the great gift God gave us and the effect that has had on our lives. Regrettably, this is now too often observed in the breach, even by fellow church goers. Far from considering this as a season in our liturgical calendar when we prepare ourselves to be worthy of receiving God’s gift of our Lord, it is all too often observed as a time for preparation of parties; and shopping for one more gift at the mall; and all before the “BIG DAY!!”

This service invites you to enter into this Advent season by taking time to stop - think - pray on the best gift of all we’ll get this year, or any other for that matter!
