COVID Updates October 2021

COVID Updates October 2021

In staying up to date with all COVID protocols, we are implementing two changes moving forward:

  1. Opening the three bathrooms at Sunday Services. With this we ask that 1 person/family utilize the washroom at a time. We will provide hand sanitizer outside the door
for you to utilize prior to entering. We will be cleaning the space frequently to ensure your safety.
  2. All children are invited to our Sunday Services! We ask that families always stay seated with one another, and that any child 5 yr+ is wearing a mask. We will do our best to keep our younger families closer to the activity corner in our sanctuary so that younger children and sit and colour/draw throughout the service.
  3. Choir. Unfortunetly, we will not be able to start choir until Stage 4 of the BC Restart Plan.

Thank you for your understanding and for keeping our church safe!

Wonderful Wednesdays Book Study REGISTRATION OPEN

Wonderful Wednesdays Book Study REGISTRATION OPEN

"Liminal" is a word to describe the space between here and there, the time between this and that. It can be a space and time of uncertainty, doubt, and perhaps, anxiety. How can we navigate our way through?

During four sessions of "Wonderful Wednesdays" this fall, we will explore ideas and practices for liminal time, guided by Susan Beaumont's book "How to Lead When You Don't Know Where You're Going." Limited copies of the book are available in the Church Office. Please contact us to arrange pick up.

Clean up of Church Storage Areas

As we move back into more "normal" worship and operations, and as our relationship with Arts Calibre increases, it has become apparent that we need to re-organize and streamline many of our storage areas.  So, a work party is being organized for Saturday 30th October at 10am.  We'll go through some storage areas, make decisions about what to keep and what to part company with, and where our stuff should best be kept given how we currently operate.  If you can help out, please contact Gary Fisher (garycfisher@shaw.ca, 236-464-5748). Come prepared for dusty but fulfilling work!   People having vehicles that are able to transport no longer useful items to Hartland landfill would be most welcome.
Coffee and Conversation - In Person

Coffee and Conversation - In Person

Saturday, November 13, 2021

Coffee and Conversation, the Women’s Group will meet in person in the Narthex on Saturday, November 13 at 10:00 am. Christine Ward will do an important presentation on Spirituality and Climate Change. Bring your own coffee and snack as we still cannot share. Please let Margaret Smart know if you will be coming. Call the church office if you need her phone number! (250-472-2090). We look forward to seeing you.

Memorial Flowers

It has been so wonderful to be back in our Church and the lovely flowers have made it so welcoming! We would love to be able to continue having them but, at this time, Chancel Guild does not have funds to purchase them and the beautiful dahlias in the garden will soon be finished for the year. Please consider donating to the flower fund. You can have flowers placed to commemorate a special occasion or as a memorial and a notice will be placed in the bulletin for you. We would also be very appreciative of any undesignated donations to help us with purchasing flowers. Please contact Sandra Browning Moore for more information.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED: Returnables pick up from the Orchard

Hello! We are looking for a volunteer or two to pick up can and bottle recycling from The Orchard residence and take to the Bottle Depot. A big thanks to Nicole Gauvin and Leslie Flynn who had taken this on in the past year and have raised over $1000 since starting!! This money is added to our Victoria Anglican Youth account at the Bottle Depot and helps to offset some of our youth program costs in the Diocese. We would really appreciate if a couple of people could take on this task. Please contact the Church Office if you are available: 250-472-2090.

Volunteer needs to have their own vehicle to escort recycling to the Bottle Depot.

Time commitment: usually takes about an hour with two people every 3 weeks.

We are looking for volunteer Event Coordinator(s)

We are looking for volunteer Event Coordinator(s)

Looking forward to the late fall, we are in search of an event coordinator(s) for our Christmas Fair! The scope of this event can be determined by the coordinator(s). The fair can focus on our bestsellers such as books, baking, and greenery or just an online order of poinsettias. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please contact the Church office or one of our wardens.
