Territorial Acknowledgment
St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. Monthly OutreachDiocesan North Island Ministries During the month of May your Social Justice and Outreach Team [SJOT] will be bringing focus on the North Island Ministries. This was the focus of Bishop Ana during her December Fund Raising Dinner. The Bishop spoke about what she had seen in her travels across the Diocese. She shared some stories about churches in the north of the island, which have a particular charisma for outreach and reconciliation. All funds raised from that evening were directed to ministry in the north of our diocese. Following are a couple of sites to visit on the Diocesan website: https://faithtides.ca/gwasala-nakwaxdaxw-nations-building-hope-for-the-future/ https://bc.anglican.ca/diocesan-ministries/reconciliation-beyond “As a Diocese we seek to live out our baptismal covenant to respect the dignity of every human being and to safeguard the integrity of God's Creation. We understand ourselves to be at the beginning of the long road to Truth and Reconciliation. Our churches seek to welcome all of God's children as beloved.” St George’s Social Justice and Outreach Team asks for your support and prayers for this Diocesan Ministry. For more infomation visit:

Join the Board at Shelbourne Community Kitchen!Help Grow Something Good Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? The Shelbourne Community Kitchen Society is currently inviting new members to join its Board of Directors -a team of dedicated individuals who help guide programs that make a real difference in the lives of hundreds of local families. In 2024 alone, The Kitchen distributed over 70,000 pounds of groceries to more than 1,600 adults and nearly 700 children, prepared almost 1,900 meals, and harvested over 10,000 pounds of fresh produce from its community gardens. Behind all of this is a small staff team and over 200 incredible volunteers—plus a Board that ensures every decision reflects dignity, inclusion, and compassion. We’re especially looking for people with skills in accounting (Treasurer), nonprofit administration (Secretary), human resources, board governance, grant writing, or experience in food service and business management. But most importantly, we’re looking for people who care. Please send expressions of interest to Nicole Kilburn, |

Deconsecration AnnouncementA Service and Lunch - Saturday, June 7th - 11am After much discernment about the path forward for St. Dunstan’s, Gordon Head, the Parish Council has taken the hard, holy, and faithful step of asking the bishop to deconsecrate the building in preparation for its sale. On Saturday, June 7, Bishop Anna will lead a service celebrating the decades of vibrant ministry at St. Dunstan’s and deconsecrate the space for its use for other purposes. We know that God is not contained within any of our parish buildings, and at the same time, they are places where we have encountered God in both ordinary times and special days, in worship and in one another. We encourage all members of the diocese to join with the people of St. Dunstan’s in this day of celebration and grief. The service will take place at St. Dunstan’s at 11:00am and will be followed by a catered lunch (registration required). Clergy are invited to vest and process. The color for the day is white. Please register if you wish to attend the lunch so we can make sure there is enough food provided for all. Registration is not required to attend the service. The deadline to register for the lunch is May 19th. |

The Turbulent 2020s: A Midterm ReportSummer Retreat with Bp Anna & Rev Christine! Bishop Anna Greenwood-Lee and The Rev. Christine Conkin, will be hosting a week of intentional reflection at the Sorrento Centre this summer (July 27 - August 2). The week will explore and incarnate life-giving theology and practice in this turbulent decade. The 2020s... we know how they started. How are they going? Climate crisis. Racial reckonings. Institutional church decline. Trump is back. The future is uncertain. How does our theology help or hinder us as we navigate the turbulence of our times? How do we hold fast in these chaotic and changing times? Together you'll look at some of the theological voices of our time and explore their insights to dig into some of the issues of our day. Prices vary depending on the meal package and accomodation type selected. Young adults (19–39) will receive $325 to be applied to their registration. Funding is distributed on a first come, first serve basis and is limited. Funding is also available from the Educational Trusts Board. For more information, CLICK HERE.
