Territorial Acknowledgment
St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us. |

Land Acknowledgment Workshop
So often when we gather now, in church and otherwise, we acknowledge the land, its earlier inhabitants, and our relationship with both. This has become in many ways an act of "secular" liturgy. What is the purpose of this practice and how can we best express it? Is it a requirement to be fulfilled, or the start of a journey? How do we as people of faith practice these acknowledgments? Let's deepen our understanding together on Tuesday, November 15, 7:00pm. Facilitated by: Brendon Neilson, Vision Animator, Anglican Diocese of BC |

Our Hallowe'en event was very successful again this year
90-plus children and their families came by, enjoying our scavenger hunt, Hallowe'en treats, and hot chocolate. We had the Narthex open which provided a space to briefly warm up, and have conversations. Many thanks to our small team of volunteers: the Carrolls, Collies, and Fishers. |

Our Library
You will have noticed our attractive new library in the church corner is in progress, the shelves are filling up, but we’re still not quite ready to start up again. We need your help! We are ready to accept back all the books that were borrowed long-term for the summer. Please dig around and gather all the borrowed items and return them as soon as possible. We need them to finalize the space needed on the shelves for each category. Books can be returned on Sunday or during office hours on weekdays. Please place them in the basket marked “Book Returns” on the cabinet in the library corner. We are excited to open again, so keep those books coming! Thank you! Your Library Team |

Donor Impact Report Vaccine Equity Fund
Thank you for your generous support for PWRDF’s Vaccine Equity Fund. According to the New York Times vaccination tracker, as of September 2022, about 69.7% of the world’s population have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, and 64% are fully vaccinated with two doses. Unfortunately, there are wide disparities between wealthier countries that have better access to vaccines and poorer countries that do not. For example, in Canada, 84% of our population is fully vaccinated. In Liberia it is 47%, in Lesotho it is 41% and in Mali it is 8%. To address these inequities, PWRDF launched our Vaccine Equity Fund in 2021. With your generous donations, we have been supporting Partners In Health in Liberia and Lesotho and Muso Health in Mali (after a successful program funded by the Government of Canada). These programs are ensuring that COVID vaccines are being delivered to as many people as possible. Below is a brief report on some of the accomplishments of our amazing partners in the field. |
