Territorial Acknowledgment
St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us. |

Call for Soup Makers
The UVic Meditation Club holds free dinners every other Thursday where they offer a 45-minute guided meditation followed by soup and bread. They are having a hard time finding volunteers to make the soup for these events, however. Are any friends at St. George's able to help with some vegetarian soup-making? |

WELCOME to the ARC
At the March 26th meeting of Parish Council, a Motion was approved to establish a preliminary committee to begin gathering information on St. George's assets (buildings and land) and other information from the Diocese. This is a follow-up to the August 2nd Information Session held at the church, where Brendon Neilson, Executive Director of our Diocese, came to speak about possibilities for St. George's into the future. The full name of this committee is the “Asset Review Committee for a Sustainable Future” (“ARC” for short.) Members of the Committee are John Oldale, Jennifer Handley, Marilyn Pattison, Leslie Glazier and Gary Fisher. The ARC team will be reporting regularly on their work, which will include setting up opportunities for input from the St. George's community. Stay tuned for future information! |

Phishing in the Diocese
Phishing happens regularly here at St. George's, alongside an increase throughout our diocese. Phishing is defined as the practice of sending emails or other messages purporting to be from reputable companies or people in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords, credit card numbers or to send e-transfers. Any email can be given a display name of the creators choosing. For example, anyone can set up an email for themselves and make it look like it comes from Christine Conkin in your inbox. The church will never contact you asking for gift cards, credit card numbers or e-transfers of any kind. When in doubt, please always contact Sage or Christine (or whoever an email purports to be from). Read more below.
