Territorial Acknowledgment

St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us.

Celtic Music for Meditation New Year's Day

Celtic Music for Meditation New Year's Day

Wednesday, January 1, 2025

Are you longing for some serenity after the busy Christmas rush? A moment to take in the beauty of the season and reflect on the cusp of a new year? Why not plan to join us for a relaxing afternoon of flute and harp music? This is a drop-in event: come in or go for whatever time you would like. There is no applause but you will be bathed in lovely music for an hour or so. Light refreshments will be available at the end.

This is the perfect time to bring friends and family to join in on this beautiful moment.

Denis Donnelly, harpist, is well known in his roles of conductor of Gettin’ Higher Choir, Soundings, and Wavelengths and is an authority on folk music. Lanny Pollet, flutist, is the retired flute professor and head of performance at UVic, and loves to explore this Celtic repertoire on various flutes. The two musicians have partnered on this music for 25 years, and we are fortunate to welcome them to St. George’s.

Admission by donation.

Apple Pie Sale Success

Apple Pie Sale Success

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the Pie Ministry so successful again this year. We donated the sum of $1835 to the Refugee Support ministry for social justice. It was such a joy to feel the energy in the kitchen as we peeled, chopped, rolled and filled each pie. I feel blessed to be a part of this wonderful congregation.
- with love, Signi
