Territorial Acknowledgment
St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us. |

Administration transitionSaying goodbye; Saying hello This week we say "goodbye" to Sage, who has served as our Parish Administrator for the past year. Sage's easy-going nature and helpful spirit will be greatly missed. We wish him well in his new adventures across the pond. This week we are also saying "hello" to Amanda Unrau, who is joining us as Parish Administrator. Amanda brings us her bright smile and her extensive administrative experience and knowledge from medical and small business contexts, along with some recent short-term work for our own Diocese. She began training with Sage this past week and we appreciate your patience as she learns about St. George's. Feel free to drop by the office to introduce yourself and welcome Amanda to our midst. |

What are your thoughts about St. George’s future Music Leadership?
Your Search Team for finding our next music director began its work on Tuesday (9th). Before we go too much further, we want to give all St. George’s parishioners the chance to contribute their hopes and wisdom to our process. We’d like to hear from any of you who worship with us, singing and listening, and wish to add your thoughts. What do you treasure about the music in our worship? What do you hope for in our music ministry after our amazing and unique Marlon has gone? We plan to move ahead with an open and efficient process, so we would ask for your responses by April 30. If you are able to email, please send to admin@stgeorgecadborobay.ca. If you prefer, you can hand a paper copy to any of the Search Team: Rev Christine Conkin, Moira Millar, Signi Murgatroyd, Peter Parker, Bruce Winter, Judy Trueman. You can choose to remain anonymous if you wish. Together, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will continue on into the future “making a joyful noise to the Lord.” |

"From Truth to Reconciliation" with Ry MoranWednesday May 15, 7:00pm - Wednesday, May 15, 2024 As a Diocese we understand ourselves to be at the beginning of the long road to Truth and Reconciliation. This 90-minute presentation of spoken word, video footage, music and song, speaks to the ongoing work of truth telling, reconciliation, healing and peace making that we have committed to undertake. Currently UVIC's Associate University Librarian - Reconciliation, Ry Moran served as the Director of Statement Gathering for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (2010-2015) and then as founding Director of the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR). His work of service to truth and reconciliation and human rights has brought him national and international recognition, including most recently, the announcement from UBC that he is this year's recipient of an honorary Doctorate of Law degree from that institution. Please plan to attend what will be a remarkable and possibly life-changing event. For further information, please click here. April Outreach: Victoria Women's Transition House Society
During the month of April please join your Social Justice and Outreach Team by focusing your prayers and support towards this worthy agency: Since 1974 Victoria Women’s Transition House has been supporting and advocating for women as they move forward with their lives after experiencing intimate partner violence.
