Faith Seeking Understanding: June 8
Atonement Theology

Why did Jesus die? Did Jesus "die for our sins" and if so, how does that work? How can we understand Jesus' "work on the cross" in life-giving ways, for the 21st century? In what ways (if at all) are we saved by the cross of Christ?

Join Bp Anna Greenwood-Lee on Wednesday, June 8 at 7pm (in-person and on zoom) for an historical overview of various ways of understanding Jesus, known as "atonement theology," and to explore emerging contemporary understandings.

It is not easy being Christian today. What does it even mean to be Christian? We know there's something special about the community we experience at church, but so much of what we once learned about Christianity has ceased to make sense. We have faith but struggle to believe. What has changed and what could be? What are our most pressing theological questions?

Once a month, we will gather (in person and online) to engage one aspect of theology, seeking to re-build our understanding of Christian faith. Join the conversation once or throughout the year! We will take a break through July and August.
