Behind the church building you will find our Community Garden. There are 23 garden plots, 21 of which are available for annual rental by parishioners and community members on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the year starts Feb. 1, and preference is given to previous renters to renew their plots, before the remainder are made available. The other plots include a flower plots for Chancel Guild, a plot for our annual Plant Sale at the Family Fun Day, and three communal plots where we grow strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb to be enjoyed by all members of the Community Garden. Individuals are welcome to become a Community Garden Member, even if they are not currently renting a plot, and share in camaraderie and the fruit production in the communal plots.
This garden is funded by an anonymous donation earmarked specifically for growing vegetables, by annual fees from plot renters, and by the Diocese of BC Visioning Fund. Garden members adhere to the “St George's Parish Community Garden Rules and Guidelines”. Interested in joining?
