Feeding Our Neighbours and Respecting Their Dignity

· Opened in 1995 as an emergency food source, the Food Bank at St. John’s continues to be a much-needed community resource.

· With the help of about 70 volunteers from St. John’s and the local community the food bank is able to keep running on a weekly basis.

· Their clients are their neighbours, the “working poor”, people whose rent consumes most of their available income.

· With only the slightest twist of fate – an accident, a debilitating illness, or an unexpected financial disaster – they could even be us.
