Primate's World Relief and Development Fund

PWRDF strives to be a part of the outreach ministry of every Canadian Anglican parish and an expression for all Anglicans of their baptismal covenant to strive for justice and peace and to respect the dignity of every human being.

March 25th update:

Despite the enormous challenges facing Canadians in 2020, Anglicans came together and made
PWRDF’s World of Gifts a success yet again.
Clean water was a running theme in this year’s World of Gifts and PWRDF donors responded.
Generous donors purchased 117 pipes for water wells with our partner in Kenya, Utooni Development
Organization (UDO). On top of that, donor purchased 16 complete water wells with hand pumps
and 4 water wells with solar pumps. This means a total of $36,295 will support UDO’s program to
improve health in vulnerable communities and reduce travel times to retrieve clean water.”
[Information taken from the PWRDF website]
Did you know that water security is also front and centre with climate change? As you know St
Georges Christmas project was able to purchase 2 solar panelled wells and a hand pump well.
Reading through the words above we can see we were part of an important project.

Remembering the words of one of the Social Justice and Outreach members, "PWRDF is the most visible proof that the Anglican Church in Canada is practising Jesus’ teaching reaching out to the poor, the abused, the sick, the hungry, the starving, the unschooled, the orphans and how many more."
Thanking you for your continued prayers and support for our monthly agencies.
The Social Justice and Outreach Team.

March 1st update from your St Georges PWRDF Representative, Rosamund:

Did you know? The COVID-19 pandemic dominated our lives throughout 2020, however Climate Change remains a pressing issue for PWRDF and its partners… for Anglicans in Canada … for the world. I recently listened to a PWRDF Zoom panel discussion with speakers from Kenya and it is clear that Food Security in Africa is just as imperative as Vaccine Security.

Did you know? PWRDF, The World of Gifts, is one option to purchase for family and friends as you support worthy projects addressing Food Security. In some cases, these are matched several times over by our federal Government.

Did you know? Water Security is also front and centre with Climate Change. As you know St Georges Christmas project was able to purchase 2 solar panelled wells and a hand pump well. Below we can see we were part of an important project as PWRDF states…… ” Clean water was a running theme in this year’s World of Gifts and PWRDF donors responded. Generous donors purchased 117 pipes for water wells with our partner in Kenya, Utooni Development Organization (UDO). On top of that, donors purchased 16 complete water wells with hand pumps and 4 water wells with solar pumps. This means a total of $36,295 will support UDO’s program to improve health in vulnerable communities and reduce travel times to retrieve clean water.”

Did you know? The Social Justice and Outreach Team [SJOT] at St Georges is working hard behind the scenes to review and evaluate how we can address our role in Climate Change. We will continue to consider the information that a trusted source such as PWRDF has to offer. “PWRDF, Canadian churches and faith-based organizations work with and support organisations such as…... “For the Love of Creation” …...the programs release hope and increase dialogue on climate change as part of its faith-based campaign to help Canada transition to net zero by 2050.” https://fortheloveofcreation.ca/

Did you know? As your PWRDF representative I forward regular updates to Setting Sail. Every update has fresh information and holds a lens up to the projects around the World that PWRDF embraces and supports.
