St George’s Social Justice and Outreach Team has chosen to support this grassroots agency during March: Shelbourne Community Kitchen. We can find out more about this month’s agency through the website below. See how they have adapted to Covid restrictions, yet still serve the love and support that is so badly needed in the local community. In the past St George’s has collected non perishable food items and regularly offered them as gifts during our Services. We hope to resume that again in 2022.

The Shelbourne Community Kitchen’s mission is to create opportunities with people living on a low income to cook, grow, share and connect for improved health and wellbeing. They offer a unique neighbourhood food centre model, and provide opportunities for people to:
•    Prepare and share healthy meals together;
•    Access nutritious food;
•    Work together to grow food and build gardening skills;
•    Connect with other community resources and become resources for one another.

Core Values are:
•    Community. Build community and belonging around food.
•    Collaboration. Work together respectfully, as equals.
•    Compassion. Practice empathy and care for one another.”

Blessings and thanks for your continued support of St Georges Outreach.  Your donations make a difference in the hearts and minds of the many people you assist.
