Dear members of St. George’s Anglican Church,

On behalf of all of us at the Shelbourne Community Kitchen Society, thank you so much for the
incredible food drive that you organized this Thanksgiving. We are excited to share that together
you gathered a whopping 197 lbs of food in support of our Pantry Program!
Your generous donations of fresh produce, pantry-staples and canned goods have helped to fill
our shelves this fall and will go a long way towards promoting food security in our community.
As one of our community partners, we continue to be humbled and inspired by St.George’s
ongoing support of our work. As you know, the Shelbourne Community Kitchen is a small
organization but we have a great big heart (just like St, George’s!), and we truly believe that the
services we offer and the connections we make help to make a difference in the health and
wellbeing of our community.
Three weeks ago, the Shelbourne Community Kitchen opened with partial occupancy in our
new, expanded facility. It’s been wonderful welcoming our participants to our new home while
providing healthy food support and grocery gift cards during this final stage with Saanich. Once
final occupancy has been approved, we plan to host a number of open houses. We look forward
to sending invitations to St.George’s as soon as our dates are confirmed.
Thank you for helping to make our work possible. Without support from caring partners like you,
we could not help so many families and individuals who are experiencing food insecurity in our
region.

In community spirit,
