Territorial Acknowledgment

St George’s Cadboro Bay respectfully acknowledges the land we stand and pray on. The soil here holds the history and footsteps of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples. On the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, we uphold the hopeful and healing spirit of reconciliation. We promise to walk with truth and love in those footprints that connect and ground us.

Concrete Foundation Repair

Concrete Foundation Repair

There are two cracks in the church's concrete foundation that seep moisture during rain events. As this will only get worse over time, the cracks will be sealed sometime during July (exact date as yet uncertain). The work will require temporary removal of a portion of the Memorial Walkway so that an access trench can be dug along the foundation. Removal and replacement of the walkway stones will be done by contractors experienced in such work. Photographs and maps of the stone positions have been made so that re-assembly will be as similar to the current walkway as possible.

Community Kitchen Request

Community Kitchen Request

Call for reusable shopping bags

The Social Justice and Outreach group has received a request from the Shelbourne Community Kitchen (SCK) for clean reusable grocery bags for the pantry program. The perfect bags are the classic Thrifty's or Fairway bags (giant Wal-Mart bags are too big and liquor store style bags are too small). The bags can be placed with the weekly food items offered at the Altar. The SCK greatly appreciates your help!

With grateful thanks…. The Social Justice and Outreach Team.

Shelbourne Community Kitchen: Summer Send Off Food Drive

Shelbourne Community Kitchen: Summer Send Off Food Drive

June 1-30, 2025

The Shelbourne Community Kitchen states: “Every summer, our organization sees an increase in families accessing our food support services, but this is also a time when supplies of non-perishable foods are at an all time low. As food costs continue to climb and as more people are seeking food support services, we are registering an average of 50 new participants every month.”

St George’s Outreach Team thanks you for your generous and ongoing support, and asks that you please share this information with your wider community. The Outreach Team will continue to collect your non-perishable donations after the weekly Sunday Service and deliver them to the Kitchen.

Summer Retreat with Bishop Anna & Christine!

Bishop Anna Greenwood-Lee and our very own incumbent Christine Conkin, will be hosting a week of intentional reflection at the Sorrento Centre this summer (July 27 - August 2). The week will explore and incarnate life-giving theology and practice in this turbulent decade.

How does our theology help or hinder us as we navigate the turbulence of our times? How do we hold fast in these chaotic and changing times? Together you'll look at some of the theological voices of our time and explore their insights to dig into some of the issues of our day.
